MRP and Demand

Hi all,

In a past MRP job that was run and completed, MRP created a requisition to meet the demand for a specific inventory part.
Is there any way to find out what demand created this requisition?

When I checked the inventory part availability planning page, there were no lines.
Probably, the demand was deleted or the quantity of the demand was reduced after MRP was completed. I am trying to determine the demand that existed in the past.

Thanks

Ozge

The MRP Part Information - Top Down will show you the supplies/demands MRP considered when it ran. You can check the Gross Requirements tab:

Hi @Katie ,

First of all thanks for your response. I have checked the page relevant inventory part but the related page was empty.

Is there any other way to determine it?

Hi @Ozge - does the MRP generated requisition still exist?

If so, I would expect to see it shown as a supply in the MRP Part Information - Top down screen. This screen would be blank if you had re-run MRP with no demand, but then the requisition would have been deleted too (unless already converted to an order). If not, maybe a permissions issue?

Another screen you could try is the MRP Open Supply and Demand Orders and filter by part.

Hi @Katie ,

“does the MRP generated requisition still exist?” --->It has not exist anymore, as MRP has been re-run with no demand.

“Another screen you could try is the MRP Open Supply and Demand Orders and filter by part.”--->Could you share the path of the screen you shared?

Thanks

Hi @Ozge,

Ah ok I understand now - I thought the situation was 1. Run MRP, 2. Demand had been deleted/edited, 3. IPAP page checked & no demand visible anymore, but MRP had not been re-run - in which case the MRP Top Down page keeps the supply/demand snapshot of when MRP was last run.

If MRP has been run since, then the MRP pages will update to the latest snapshot. I don’t know of a way you could trace a previous MRP result after MRP has been re-run.

The path for the page I mentioned is Supply Chain Planning > Material Requirements Planning > MRP Open Supply and Demand Orders

But this page will also update to the latest MRP run.

Hi @Ozge,

I believe you can try this in MRP Open Supply and Demand Orders window by querying for the records by MRP Run Date(MRP execution date and time which generated the MRP results).
