@Ed22

Setting up of Power BI Integration could be divided into two parts

  • Power BI Cloud Integration with IFS Cloud Web
  • Power BI Report Server Integration with IFS Cloud Web

What are you looking to configure?

IFS Documentation

Power BI Integration in IFS Cloud
IFS Cloud supports embedding Power BI reports and dashboards directly into the web client for advanced analytics. The process involves two main steps:

  1. Set Up BI Infrastructure

    • If hosting BI infrastructure yourself, you need to configure resources in Microsoft Azure.
    • Two common scenarios:
      • Remote Customer Azure Cloud
      • Cloud Customer Azure Cloud
    • Estimated setup time: ~5 hours (including Azure configuration).
Read Full Guide: BI Infrastructure Setup [docs.ifs.com]
  2. Connect Power BI to IFS Cloud

Key Points

  • You do not install Power BI inside IFS Cloud; instead, you integrate Power BI services with IFS.
  • Requires:
    • Power BI Pro or Premium license
    • Azure resources for BI infrastructure (if self-hosted)
    • HTTPS configuration for Power BI Report Server
  • After setup, you can embed Power BI dashboards in Aurena pages for seamless analytics.

@Ed22 you need to publish the report from PBI Desktop to PBI service (web) in one of the workplaces you have access to.

Then in PBI Service/web you go go File - Embed

See more details in the Microsoft documentation:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-embed-secure

Once you generated the link to be embedded in IFS Cloud, you go to Manage Reports and just past the link:

@Ed22 content doesn’t matetr. Of course the users that will view the report in IFS CLoud, must have access to the PBI Service as well. They will be required to login before seeing the PBI in IFS Cloud

Hi @Ed22, note that your documentation link above refers to 24R1 - is this what you’re using? The documentation explains embedding an entire report into IFS Cloud as an iFrame. There is a more modern approach (which also gives more licensing flexibility): Configuring Power BI Elements - Technical Documentation For IFS Cloud It embeds the report/report page/page visual into a lobby element, which can then be mixed with “normal” lobby elements in a lobby page.

@Ed22 are you trying to connect your Power BI Desktop directly to the IFS/Oracle DB? You’ll need IFS to setup a VPN tunnel between the machine you’re running PBI Desktop and the Oracle DB machine.

Or alternatively, you could connect via HTTP and consume Quick Report data in PBI.

See an example of such a setup done by @dsj
