When a material has multiple suppliers, can the IFS AI automatically adjust the order allocation ratio based on supplier performance such as delivery performance and quality performance?

Hi @henry.sunhb ,

What’s happening in standard IFS

In IFS (Apps 10 / Cloud):

  • Multiple suppliers can be set using:
    • Supplier for Purchase Part
    • Split percentages / ranking

 But:

  • These are manually maintained
  • Not dynamically changed by AI

 About supplier performance in IFS

IFS does track:

  • ✔ Delivery performance
  • ✔ Quality performance
  • ✔ Supplier ratings

 However:

  • These are used for:
    • analysis
    • reporting
  • NOT for automatic sourcing decisions

 Why AI doesn’t adjust automatically

Even in IFS Cloud:

  • AI/ML features are mainly for:
    • forecasting
    • recommendations

 Not:

  • automatic procurement decision changes (like supplier split %)

 What people usually do

✔ Option 1 (most common)

  • Periodically review:
    • supplier KPIs
  • Manually adjust:
    • supplier ranking
    • split %

✔ Option 2

  • Use:
    • Supplier evaluation reports
  • Then update sourcing strategy

✔ Option 3 (advanced / custom)

Some customers implement:

  • Custom logic:
    • based on performance KPIs
  • Automatically adjust:
    • supplier allocation

 Done via:

  • custom events
  • external optimization tools

 What is possible (semi-automated)

You can:

  • Use:
    • performance data
  • Build:
    • external model (Power BI / Python / optimization tool)

Then:

  • Feed recommendations back into IFS
