Copy BOM structure from Inventory part to Engineering part

I would like to copy a product structure (BOM) from an Inventory part to a Engineering part.

At the moment we use a workaround with the following steps:

Export Inventory part structure to excel

Excel sorts out the important parts (Component part nbr, Quantity, Drawing position) and puts them as comma separated values

These are saved in a Notepad text file (csv)

This file is imported in the Engineering parts revision “Consists of” tab

is there any easier way to do this since we have about 1000 BOMs that needs to be transferred?

Hi, you can do this exact process in batch for all your structures using migration jobs :

1) extract the parts & structure components (you can use some fields of the inventory part to retrieve the correct values)
2) create the engineering parts & engineering BoM

just curious，if the change base on existing BOM, why not use engineer change process to achieve this modification.
