Installed a PrintAgent locally against IFS CBP Environment and the service was registered successfully (as an admin user with access to the spool folder)

When I try to start the service from the IFS Print Agent window, I get the following error.

When I run the service via windows services window, I get the error.

Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

Checked the dependency tab for the windows service and it is empty. I also checked whether the similar service called 'Printer Spooler’ and it is running fine. So wondering why the IFS Print Agent service is failing.

Wondering whether anyone else has come across a similar issue before

PS: Checked a few windows forums and they provide a wide range of solutions.

Hi Artha,

Which user credentials you entered when installing the PrintAgent Service?

Hi @Artha,

When installing the Print Agent Windows service, you need to specify the username along with the domain in the “Username” field. In most cases, the reason for this issue is not specifying the domain along with the username.

Eg: mydomain\myusername

Make sure the Windows user account has enough privileges to run the Windows service as well.

Hope this helps!

Hi Charith/HashanD,

The username (with domain) and credentials were provided at the time of the service registration (otherwise it does not allow me to register the service). The said user is an administrator.

I get the error when I attempt to start the service.

Can you try to use the local administrator?

<hostname>\administrator

Hi @Artha,

Try to install the service again with the correct service account.
