i am trying to create a links list to several internal adresse without data source. When i test the navigation links In the element designer, and they work fine. But this links list element, cant be added in the lobby.
Then I tried to use a standard links list: DEVELOPMENT PAGES MANAGER in a lobby, and this element cant be used either (by clicking the element, it is not added in the lobby).
Can someone explain how to create a links list to internal adresses without data source?
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
Shirley

@FLESHIRLEY - can you try removing the element from the lobby and re-adding it again?
I have had challenges where I’ve updated the navigation in an element but that update is not replicated in the lobby (even when I update the lobby cache).
If the link works in the element designer, it should also work in the lobby !
Good luck
Dave
Hi Shirley, thank you for sharing your query regarding the links list element.
To provide an accurate solution, could you please confirm the version of IFS Cloud you are using?

Hi,
I experience the same thing. I can add any type of lobby element to a lobby, but NOT link lists. It is like nothing happens when I click the element. I have also tried with standard lobby elements - delivered by IFS - and they can’t be added either.
By coincidence I tested a CRM link list lobby element that worked - Summary. I then tested other CRM defined link lists and they work… but I have not found any other that works.
What’s the difference with these elements?
This error occured after an upgrade to IFS Cloud 24R2.
I have also tested the same thing in an IFS reference environment and I get the same error.
I also tested to add link lists to the widget “My Lobby” on the start page and that works fine. So it is possible to add a link list to the widget but not to the lobby.

Maria

Hello @FLESHIRLEY, @ADDMARIAE
Good day! I reviewed the concern you raised, and the issue occurs specifically when a Links List element is created without an attached data source. This behavior was identified as a defect in IFS Cloud 24R2.
The good news is that this defect has already been addressed, and the fix will be available in the upcoming IFS Cloud 25R1 release.
Thank you for your patience, and please let me know if you need further assistance!
Best regards, Shakya

Couldn’t get this answer from IFS support…. I have now solved this by just creating a “dummy dataasource” that I can use if there is no real reason for using a data source. Seems to work fine:-)

Maria
Hi @ADDMARIAE
We have same problem (24R2SU2) and I tried to follow your work around ““ creating dummy dataasource”” but I could n’t get it. Could you share a bit more detail how you did it? Thanks :-)
I could now fix this to add a dummy list with - and random data source which is good enough for oss now….
Hi @ADDMARIAE , @Asadan Just a quick note! After adding the link elements with a dummy data source into the lobbies, you can remove the dummy ds link from the Link List element as well.
I wanted to share this since it helps enhance the visual clarity and overall user experience. Thanks.
