Can I kindly know if we could add new specification controls in posting controls window or is it system defined.

Thanks

Uwee

Hello

Specification control types are same as regular control types, just you add another layer to automate the postings. They are not user defined but can be developed in case of need.

Here is IFS documentation how to develop posting type and control types.

Posting Types and Control Types - Technical Documentation For IFS Cloud

You can use Control Types per Posting Type Analysis page in order to see all control types per posting type.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Control types, generally, are system defined for the given posting types. These are not user configurable - meaning a user cannot create aa new control type and use this with a given posting type.

For example, assume a custom field on a part for color.  A user cannot create a new control type based on the color of a part. Same is true for existing IFS fields that are not currently defined as a control type.

The exception to this is a combination control type. In this a user can combine two existing control types for example product family and site. Both are existing control types, in the same area in IFS.

Specification controls use the same control types just allowing a more if then else if type logic. Still using the same control types available for a given posting type.

Highly configurable, but a user cannot create a entirely new control type.

Best regards,

Thomas
