I have been tryong to edit a Report using Report Designer, but whatever I do, when I go to print, the change is not visible.
The users want to add a small gap between Invoie No and Date on a Customer Ledger Open Item report.
I exported the Schema, Layout and Style Sheet to my local PC from the Report Defiition
I opened the report and found the relevant fields an moved them about to create the gap.

I saved the report and could see that only the the xsl file had been updated.
I re-imported that xsl file back into the Report Definition

But when I run the report, nothing has changed. The 2 fields still run into each other

What am I missing?

I suspect I am missing a step, but what I have done SEEMS correct.

Anyone got any idea what I am missing?

Thanks
Roger

Hi @RogerB,

Once you've made changes in the layout through the IFS Report Designer, you can deploy them to the database directly by deploying the layout as shown below.

@RogerB as @ashen_malaka_ranasinghe easiest would be to connect your Report Designer to the IFS environment to be able to push directly the changes, without exporting / saving fiels / importing in Report Definitions.

Also, when you do a change to the layout, the RDL file must also be updated. This RDL you can import to your report → import new layout.

Thanks Ashen. I don’t have a Deploy button. THAT could be the problem. That is why I am doing it manually.

Thanks Marcel. When I make changes to the report, the ONLY file that changes when I save is the  xsl file.

I don’t see a way to conect to the Application either.

I think maybe we are running a VERY old version…

Hmm. That looks a bit out of date…  14 years old :-(

That certainly won’t help.

Where can I find a newer version? Any ideas?
