What is the significance of Posting Control AP 1 & AP2 & when it is used?

AP1-AP2 posting controls are used for tax disbursed and tax received. If you go to accounting rules\voucher\voucher entry and start a manual voucher and select a tax code that is set to calculated tax and then use tax disbursed or received you will then see these controls used.
