Does IFS have software that can be used to edit a PDF

IFS Document Management has features for checking in and checking out, viewing, editing, and printing electronic document files. Security for documents is maintained by the access levels required for each document revision.

An electronic document is stored in IFS Document Management and connected to a document record. The initial document record is the document title, which is made up of the document number (the unique document ID) and general data about the document, entered by you. 

An electronic document file is connected to document revision. When a new document revision is created, the document file is connected to that new revision. The document file can be checked out and edited as needed.

I’m sorry for misleading you.  I was wanting to know if there is software that the IT department has in its reportoire that would allow the full-edit of an an acrobat file.  What you’re explaining is the functionality within DocMan that does the check-in and check-out process but IFS doesn’t actually edit the file.  The editing of the file is done in the application defined within Windows as the default for that type of file extension.

We edit PDF files using Adobe Acrobat which is available from Adobe.

Thank you for the clarification. I understand now that you're specifically looking for software within the IT department's repertoire that allows full editing of Acrobat files. What I previously explained pertains to DocMan's check-in and check-out process within IFS, which manages document versions but doesn't actually edit the files. The editing would indeed be handled by the default application associated with the file type in Windows.

I edit PDF files using Adobe Acrobat, which is available from Adobe.

I’ve been misleading again….

I want to be able to edit the actual text within a PDF.  I don’t want to add comments or draw circles.  It requires Acrobat premium to do this, which I don’t see as being available on our list of software.  Either we have something equivalent, or we don’t.  Note that word can also be used to edit a PDF but the file needs to be simple and not contain outlined areas as such.
