Hi, I want to be able to raise a “fixed price” Request in IFS Cloud. “No matter how much labour or materials are consumed on a Request, customer will only pay “£XXX”.

The options I can see are as follows:

  • Create a Request with a Price Rule that contains a Fixed Price Line - is it then possible to amend this Fixed Price amount?
  • Create a Request Quotation and add a fixed Price Line. Process request from Quotation. This seems slightly lengthier than the above process. If possible I’d like to skip the quotation process all together and simple raise a fixed price job.

Thanks

Tom

Hi, Tom

I believe you can create a service with a fixed price rule and with that service create a Request. And you also want to be flexible with the pricing (like a room for negotiation I guess).

The first option “Create a Request with a Price Rule that contains a Fixed Price Line - is it then possible to amend this Fixed Price amount? “

  • Yes it is possible to edit this Fixed price from “Cost and Sales” Tab of a Request, select a service under Scope Id and go to Planning to to edit lines.
  • Further if you want flexibility while allocation, you can edit Planned Cost and Sales from Request Task.

For second “Create a Request Quotation and add a fixed Price Line. Process request from Quotation”

  • Yes this is lengthy for a purpose, Use a Request Quotation when scope or price is not yet agreed: you need to propose a price (often fixed), send it to the customer, and possibly revise it before they say yes.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks,

Rachit
