What is the exact difference between Fault Type and Fault Class? The explanation on the help files does not seem to give much help. Both talk about technical and financial analysis of costs. Both are related to WO reporting…

Just guessing here… 
...but I could imagine that Fault Classes existed standalone already and Fault Types were introduced as part of Structured Failure Management (see Service Management in IFS Cloud (24R1) - The Service Demystified Trilogy | IFS Community).
