Dear community,

We are currently implementing IFS Cloud Service Management with PSO running in the back to support our Field Service activities. We are using IFS Cloud 24R1 and PSO 6.13

One of our test cases is designed to ensure that Dispatchers have a correct view on the actual Work Assignment duration, especially when a task has started, but is taking more time then initially foreseen.

We have observed that Dispatch Console always shows the initial duration and the “extra time” as blank, while PSO does display it more accurately. See screenshots below.

Our intension is to have our dispatchers use only Dispatch Console, not a combination of 2 UI for simplification reasons. Abandoning Dispatch Console and settling for PSO is not an option we want to consider.

My aim is to understand the behavior of Dispatch Console and try to understand if this is by design or if this is related to missing data, or something else.

Ps. The work task in our tests are location less tasks, which explains why there is no travel time.

Appreciate your feedback and suggestions.

Dispatch Console showing first work task (orange) as WorkStarted, but with initial duration. The task is taking more time then expected, but shows the extra time as blanc
The same view as above, but in PSO, where the visualization of the extra time is better

Hi @PGNPROXSVE ,

I was wondering if you could share how you've been setting up "extra time" in the cloud. Could you share that here if possible?

Hi @SAMLK  Thanks for reacting to my message. In fact, we have not set up anything specific and in this context you should interpret extra time as the time a job goes over its initially foreseen duration.

So, imagine I have a 2 hour job, scheduled to start at 8, scheduled to finish at 10. Technicians starts the work at 8, but at 11 the technician is still working on the job. The extra time, if a dispatcher would look at the job at 11 would be 1 hour.

I would expect that the duration of the job on the Dispatch Console gantt would be extended as long as the job is in execution state, in relation to the current time. PSO Workbench correctly visualizes it, but Dispatch Console does not.

Any thoughts?

Hi @PGNPROXSVE as of yet the gantt chart items in the dispatch console is designed to correspond to the work assignment date time fields on work tasks. This means the length of the gantt chart item (at work started status) will be based upon the assignment start and the allocation finish date times of the work assignment. However, once you complete your work assignment, the assignment finish would get updated and will be used to update the length of the gantt chart item. Therefore in your example, if the technician finishes their work at 11, and the status is updated to work done, then the gantt will get updated with the extra time included.

Thanks, Minindu
