Hi Heroes,

Just wondering is it possible to do a search for a word /expression inside the document body itself not just by document title ?

Thanks

Nadine

This can be done via Enterprise Application Search in Apps8 thru Apps10 IEE (not Aurena). Will need to have the Search Domain called Document Content(?) enabled to allow this capability.

@matt.watters thanks for your answer. will check it.

@Mathias Dahl ,

Is the "search content within documents" feature currently available in the latest versions of IFS, such as 24R2 or 25R1?

If not, could you please clarify the reason behind its discontinuation in the IFS Cloud versions?

One of my customers is planning to upgrade from Apps 10 to 24R2, and they are specifically looking for this functionality. They are curious to know why it was removed and whether it is included in the IFS roadmap for a future release.

Thanks in advance

Ganindu

Hi,

Have a look at this IFS Community post:

https://community.ifs.com/document-management-docman-248/copilot-document-search-50611?postid=196078#post196078

As for the reasons, they were several. I don't remember them all, but one reason was that the EAS was relatively little used (it was used most for documents though) and therefore the value keeping a complicated technical solution was seemed to be too small to outweigh the solution.

Hi @Mathias Dahl ,

Thank you very much for your reply — it was very helpful.

I have another question. I uploaded a document (PDF format in Doc Revision) to the Data Lake, and the document is currently in the "Released" state. I would like to find this document number by searching for a keyword contained within the document's content using IFS Copilot Chat. Is this possible? I was unable to achieve this. (This is a type of functionality that my customer is specifically requesting.)

Additionally, is there a recommended way to use Page Prompts for such tasks? I still don’t know the functionality and limitations of Page Prompts.

Thank you again for your support!

Best regards,

Ganindu

@Ganindu Kandemulla

Just to be sure we are not miscommunicating, did you actually upload the document to the data lake too, or did you only upload it to document management?

Once uploaded to the data lake you should be able to find it via the Copilot after, say, 10 minutes.

As for page prompts, check out the documentation. They cannot do anything you cannot type manually. See them as shortcuts.
