In IFS Cloud 24R1, we want to restrict an HR folder in Document Management so that only certain users can access it.

What is the correct way to set this up? For example, we have a few departments in the folder structure, and each folder should only be visible to its assigned users.

Hi @Mathias Dahl  Could you please assist with this? At the moment, all users are able to see the Folder Navigator folders. I need to restrict access so that only one specific group can view them. In Apps 9, this restriction works as expected, but in Cloud (24R1) it does not seem to apply. What is the correct way to configure this in Cloud?

There's no way to control access to document folders and never has been. The same goes for the documents that are connected to them. You can probably control the access to the documents, though, with a custom business logic that you install to control document access based on folders.

Hi Peri,

As for my knowledge, it is not possible to restrict access to IFS Document Folders.

3 types of access is available in the Document Management World in IFS.

  1. Document Administrator Permission set will give you access to Docs irrespective of below item 2 and 3.
  2. Document Revision Specific Access - Is granted individually on a document revision or is inherited via Document Class Access setup
  3. Object Connection Specific Access - If you have access to and Object (Ex: Project / Supplier Invoice etc) you will have access to document revisions connected to those objects.

Regards,

Malik
