Hi all,

A customer is installing Aurena Agent using their remote software installation procedure to all users in a group.

What they have done is

  1. Mass rollout the .msi file. Pushed silent installation with the TEST environment url.
  2. Chrome extension was pushed out and enabled successfully for Chrome.
  3. Extension was installed on Edge too.

Above worked.

Question:

How do we now change the url to PROD? Uninstall and reinstall with correct url? Just push with new url?, etc, etc?

Any help much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Rajith

Silent pushing the MSI with the new URL sounds like the best and easiest thing to me. The Chrome extension does not need to be touched, leave that as it is.

They don't really need to install the MSI again, it's enough to "Modify" the installation and add another URL. At least that's what a user can do interactively.

If they want to they can instead push a new version of the allowed_hosts.txt file that exists under C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\IFS\IFSAurenaAgent. They need to run the installer once, on one machine, to get the right hash of the new server/URL, and copy that file to all the PCs.

Or, again, push/run the MSI/installer again, with the new URL. Both should work.

Good luck!
