Hi Patrick,

  • Work task is the planning object for a planned period of work for one or more persons, which is linked to a single work order. It defines the demands (resource, material etc.) to fulfil the requirement, collects cost and generates revenue. The activities are defined as task steps.
  • Work Task Steps are the details of steps that are required to perform a work task. The work task step is not a sub task, and the difference is that it is not possible to add demands (resources, materials etc) on a step line or to create transactions (time, issues etc.) directly to a step.
  • You can report the amount of time spent on a specific job and who did it in time reporting. I.e. reporting of actual costs which is done by reporting hours for Employees and Tools.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Yasanthi

Hello,

I understand the structure of Work order/Tasks/Task Steps through IFS Standard design, it is not possible to add/issue materials to WORK TASK STEPS.

So, I would appreciate if you could suggest some ideas on how to add /issue materials to Steps??

Scenario: -   Serial object ID’s  were used on Steps. They were not added on Tasks.

So, would like to track the parts issued for steps.

Thanks,

Chandana.
