Question

Creating a Sales Quotation in a Planned State

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

Hi,

Is there anyway to default this (see yellow highlight) as FALSE - “Create Quotation  in Released Status” when creating a Sales Quote from a Business Opportunity? I know it’s possible to do this for Customer Orders from the CRM Basic Default Values but can’t see an option for Quotations.

I always want my Sales Quotations to be created in a Planned State. Can’t see anyway on CRM Default Values or Site Settings to change this have I missed something or is this a limitation?

Thanks

Tom

Hi @tunstalltom,

I did some digging into this above topic, but from the previous issues that has been raised regarding the same topic, it seems that it is not possible to set the default value of this checkbox to N.

Below is an explanation from a previous case:
In the client code it has been hard coded to default select the checkbox “Create quotation in released
state”. This is the same behavior can be seen when converting a business opportunity to a customer order and it is not possible for the user to change the default setting through the application. This has been the standard behavior and from the core perspective it will not be ideal to change a setting which has been there from the beginning as it might affect other customers.

Best Regards,

Uvina Jayamaha.

Hi,
I’m not sure where this is set in IEE, but in Aurena you can configure the page designer to remember your selection. It doesn’t change the default for other users, but at least you don’t have to remember to uncheck it every time.

If you edit the Business Opportunity page, you can select the active page from the dropdown menu and choose “CreateCustomerOrderDlg”

Open up the third group content and expand the field for “Create Order in Released Status”

Select the checkbox for “Default To Previous”

Save the context.

This makes the client remember your previous choice. So, when you go to convert another business opportunity to a sales quote, it won’t have the box checked for “Create in Released Status.”
