Can a Business Opportunity Be Connected or Converted to a Project?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to confirm two things about standard IFS functionality on Business Opportunities and Projects. ​​

  1. Can a Business Opportunity be connected to or converted into a Project (in the Project Management Module)? 

  2. Does the Opportunity status matter? For example, can an Opportunity in Closed, Won, or Lost status still be converted to a Project, or does it need to be in a specific phase?

note that I am using IFS cloud 25R2 V4 environment to test this out. 

If anyone can confirm whether this functionality exists in standard IFS (Apps 10 or Cloud), and under what conditions the command appears, I’d appreciate it.

    A Business Opportunity cannot be converted to a project in core. Once an opportunity is confirmed, you can create a sales quotation, customer order, service quotation or sales contract.

      A Business Opportunity cannot be converted to a project in core. Once an opportunity is confirmed, you can create a sales quotation, customer order, service quotation or sales contract.

      Thanks ​@Annjse, figured as much looking at the documentation but wanted to be 100%. 

      Moreover, could you please help me to understand if i can connect a Project Activity against the ‘Business Opportunity’ header or “Opportunity lines” within the standard functionality?

      ​@desilvasachitha  You cannot create a project activity. There is no connection between business opportunity and projects in core.
