Question

Create PSO-Customer via REST API

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Dear all,

we are setting up our new PSO environment on ifs-cloud 24.2.2 and want to insert several thousands of customers with their names, adresses and contact information via REST-API calls.

Currently we can successfully create the customer via REST-API “…/CustomerHandling.svc/CustomerInfoSet”.

How can we add the communication-information via REST (the endpoint …/CustomerInfoContactEntity.svc/CustomerInfoContactSet seems not to be active)?

How can we add the Address-information via REST (the endpoint …/CustomerInfoAddressEntity.svc/CustomerInfoAddressSet seems not to be active)?

The json structure to POST this data seems to be correct.

Best regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

I did not try this out yet. Did you check that the Endpoints are active?

In IFS Cloud, navigate to Solution Manager → Integration → API Explorer and search for the API-names

there you can check for the Active state an activate / deactive the API.

With several thousand data records, wouldn't it be an option to use one of the IFS migration tools? The Data Migration Manager or the Data Migration Tool (FNDMIG).

I hope it helps, otherwise please share more details (error messages, steps, etc.).

The endpoints are active and can be used.

In the meantime I found the migration tools. The situation seems to be nearly the same. One has to know all the views which are necessary to insert a complete dataset.

Ist there any description/handbook available for e.g. which views one has to use to fully set up a new “user, person, employee, resource” to be used in PSO.

I can prepare the data in many formats, but I must know how to fully load them into IFS PSO.

If I know all the views/endpoints, I will provide the error messages.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any specific documentation or detailed information on the PSO process. In such cases—and in general—I recommend first setting up the process manually in the system as an initial example. This approach helps identify the necessary data objects as well as the relevant technical components (e.g., views, procedures).

This method is particularly useful because there is usually no universal standard process; implementations can vary from one company to another. Please note that I do not have in-depth knowledge of PSO myself.
