Supplier Agreement status remains active after 'Valid to' date passed

Hi ​@Asela Munasinghe , I have checked in latest SU of 24R1 and 24R2 and observed the same as above. However, the supplier agreement will be used on applicable purchase order lines if the date is within the valid period only. One supplier agreement can have multiple periods set. And even if there is only one period set, it will not automatically change the agreement header status after the ‘valid to’ date is passed and users can define new periods on the same agreement too.

That I understand and I have tested. But from a business perspective, if an agreement still remains in the active status beyond the validity period when the additional periods have not been setup, that's fundamentally incorrect for me. IFS should automatically set the agreement to a closed state [or have a new state like ‘expired’] after the valid to date. I see it as a standard software fault / bug in IFS.

   The status 'Active' is determined logically based on the 'valid from' and 'valid to' date range. If a given date range includes a past period, then the agreement was considered active during that time. In the same way, we can determine when the agreement is currently active or will become active in the future. Therefore, this status should be interpreted collectively over the entire date range, not merely as a reflection of the current status.

In the business world, that is not how it works unfortunately :) 

If an agreement is active, it usually has a current validity period. If the valid period is passed, it can't be active. Simple as that.

For everyone's information: 

My technical colleague configured a custom event to automatically bring the agreement to the status ‘Closed’ after the expiry date has been passed. 

 

However this idea is still valid - ideally IFS should introduce a new status ‘Expired’ and change the valid agreement to expired after the valid to date is passed.
