Use Case : a technician create a quote in the field, He adds a line (activity or service) and he wants to modify the price.
What are the settings (MOE ?) to do this action. It seems that the technician can’t change the fixed price. (in universal we can do this action)
Thanks and Regards

Hi Anthony,
You would have to log a ticket to have this evaluated further. Despite the fact that it was possible in Universal does not mean that it is allowed in Edge as there may have been design changes, etc. for specific reasons. I believe this is by design at this time as no where can I find in the documentation anything alluding to the field engineer being able to define the prices in the mobile client.
Even if it is an issue and should be allowed, a ticket should be created.
I did not do any actions to check/uncheck the Optional flag directly that I am aware. I had added a material line to the quote to the quote and it defaulted to not checked.
When you go to to the Field Quote - Details, what do you see for the Fixed Price. This is what I referred to that I had to set to make the prices editable in my test.
When I added the part, this is the result on my screen:
The Optional is already unchecked but billable is still set to Policy. I can change the Billable to Fixed but this was not what made the price field editable. It was the Details card setting for Fixed Price.
For us this option “Optional” is always checked. I didn’t know how to have the same situation like you. Maybe it can resolve the issue, but what setting do we have to modify ? I hope it’not linked to the currency or language.
Correct, I modified the price directly not using percentage, etc.
Also, Reid just gave me this snippet:
In my case, I had added the material line with the + option and it defaults to not optional. I don’t know how you are adding your line and it defaults to optional. Still looking into this aspect myself.
But the field Optional cannot be edited within the Mobile client itself… it is read-only.
Ok, figured what I was doing was adding an unknown material which allows you to modify the price. If it is a known material, the flag will be checked as you say and you cannot modify the price. If you click the $ icon on the bottom it will retrieve the price from Alliance.
We are not supporting field engineers making their own prices for known materials apparently. This seems like it will have to be a code customization.
