We are trying to figure out: how do we enable/disable push notifications on mobile? We found a user with this disabled, but have not figured out how to enabel it. On the mobile?

Hi Bjorn,

I think this is just a warning to enable the push notifications.  Probably and I am guessing, your field engineers has the push notifications disabled in the OS for the mobile device.  For example, you can go into iOS settings, find Astea Mobile and review the Notifications settings for banners, sounds and badges. Perhaps they are disabled on the app level?

You are instructed to allow push n

otifications when running the application for the first time after installation.  See screenshot from the Mobile Users guide below:

This is an OS level setting for every app so probably he did not allow or turned it off accidently.

Go to Settings...Astea Mobile...then click on Notifications.  There is a toggle there at the top of the screen that they may have disabled so flip that back on and see if it resolves the issue (and then maybe follow up with the technician to see why they disabled these in the first place...if it’s because they’re getting audible notifications in the middle of the night we have a SERVER MOE -10272 you can configure which will suppress the associated sound as long as the tech logged out at the end of their shift...so that way they can leave the notifications on all of the time on the mobile device and as long as they remember to log out then the notification will be sent without any associated sound byte):

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Here’s an update: this is of course a user who is not the most tech savvy. And it was on his spanking new iPad. So we got him to uninstall Astea and reinstall. And now it works. So it is safe to say that that he clicked Don’t allow first time around
