Hello everyone,

I have a question about upgrade from version 10 to Cloud. This week, we received information from the IFS partner company, which is our implementation, that the licensing in IFS is changing and if we do not want to move to Cloud, the license fee for the currently used version 10 will be increased by 50% year annually :)

On the other hand, if we decide to move to the Cloud, it is not considered an upgrade covered by the licensing fee but is instead treated as the implementation of a completely new ERP system, with full implementation costs.

I wanted to ask how this looks on your company, because I don't want to believe in that , we have invested many millions in the system, modifications, staff training and here now such a twist. Please let me know if you know something

Thanks!

Not too sure whether you’ve already got the required information.
Apps 10 is reaching end of support and maintenance. To extend the support and maintenance, the Maintenance & Support fee will be increased by x% per year (not the license fee - I am assuming your license fee is perpetual) , the more time you take to move to IFS Cloud, the more maintenance fee increase… eventually it will go to 100%. and at a point the version will be unsupported.

Upgrade to IFS Cloud is not a full re-implementation. It is an uplift of core code, configurations, reports, integration and modifications, also solution upgrade (if the business process is impacted by either deprecated functionality or new functionality). You will also have to update the permission sets, profiles etc if you were on IFS EE. Upgrade to cloud will cost quite a bit, but definitely not as near as a new implementation.
