Please advise if changing the supplier after release of a quotation is possible.  We get an error that says it is not, have to cancel the line and re-enter it to choose an alternate supplier.

This should be standard functionality even if it changes to revised status.  We should not be locked into the supplier only because we released the quote.

Hi @tvance2 ,

I have run the same flow in the latest IFS Cloud standard reference environment and found that changing the supplier after releasing the sales quotation is not possible.

Below is the error message that throws by the system. Hence, it can be concluded that this is the standard behaviour.

If this functionality is essential for your business, you change the functionality through a modification. Also, if you believe the standard functionality should be changed to allow changing supplier after releasing the sales quotation, you can share your idea with R&D as an idea post from this link: https://community.ifs.com/ideas

Regards,
Kethaka

We’re running into the same issue and our Sales team is pushing back on using the screen at all for sales quotation. You can change the supply code on a customer order, why wouldn’t you be able to on a Sales Quote.

Is the Supplier known at time of Sales Quotation Release?

If the Supplier is dynamic, have you considered using the ‘Not Decided’ Supply Code?  This will still allow you to update the Supply Code and Supplier after Release once you switch the Supply Code to Purchase Order Dir or Purchase Order Transit.

It’s not a desirable solution, but it may work depending on your business requirement.
