Hello Community,

We are planning on upgrading oracle 12.2 to 19.3.  We are on premise.  Does an IFS upgrade task list exist?   Is there anything in IFS that requires changes to support oracle 19?

Thanks

Hi @brantmb ,

This would largely depend on the Apps 10 UPD version you are in. Oracle 19c is supported after UPD6 so if you are in a much later UPD, you should not have to do anything specific in IFS side. depending on how you are doing the upgrade (inplace upgrade vs expdp/impdp) there might be few additional steps.

Cheers

Hello Sajith,

Thanks for your response.  We are on Apps 10 UPD15.  Does the Oracle client require upgrading?

Cheers.

Hi @brantmb,

It would be good to upgrade the client where it is in use. I don't remember there being a restriction in using 12c client to connect to a 19c database but i feel it’s good practice to have a server and client running the same base version so that if you run in to some funny issue, you have all your bases covered.

cheers
