Question

IAM User - Required user action: UPDATE_PASSWORD

Forum|alt.badge.img+9

Hi,

We recently completed a clone of a customer environment running IFS Cloud version 25.2.7.

Since the clone, users are being prompted to change their password when logging into the cloned environment, and in some cases are unable to log in until the password has been updated.

I have noticed that, for the affected users, the IAM User setting Required User Actions is set to:

UPDATE_PASSWORD

This appears to be affecting all users in the cloned environment.

Does anyone know what could cause this required action to be applied during or after a clone? We would like to understand the cause so that we can avoid the same issue in future environment refreshes.

Hi @crpgaryw , we had a similar issue after cloning an IFS Cloud environment. The Required User Actions for the affected users was set to UPDATE_PASSWORD.

We resolved it by using User → Set Password and setting a new password with the Temporary option disabled.

After this, the users were able to log in without being prompted to change their password.

However, since this occurred for all users after the clone, it would be useful to check the IAM/clone process to identify why UPDATE_PASSWORD was set during the refresh.

thanks for the work around. I have raised a ticket with IFS.

I will let you know once they identify the issue.
