Hello all,

we are in the start of an upgrade project from IFS9 to ifscloud -- 23R2
Recently got the lifecycle portal access.
can you help us select the right mode of implementation please?

what mode of implementation to be selected for ifscloud upgrade -- remote deployment mode.

we see 2 option with upgrade solution.
One with data and other with manually managing data.
which one to select? (refer screenshot)

NOTE:- we selected remote deployment model, and we will do the database upgrade on servers hosted in oracle cloud.

are there any difference between the 2 upgrade option?

Thanks,
Hardik

I believe, the following are the options (they don’t directly match with what you see in the build place)

I might be wrong, an expert in this area can reconfirm. I understand it as if you want a direct upgrade along with the customers data, you should use the last option in your list.
If you want to uplift the environment first and then have a data migration strategy to load the APP 9 data you need to migrate them using one of the migration tools.

I believe this ties with the Upgrade Strategy the client / implementing partner has agreed upon on a higher level.

Hello @malik.sally

Thanks for reply!
But what is the difference between both?

Agreement we had is simple, upgrade from IFS9 to IFSCLOUD23R2 with remote deployment model.
Servers are hosted on oracle cloud and data movement will be done using export/import and later upgrade script.

Can anyone let me know which option to select for above one?

Thanks,
Hardik

Hello @malik.sally ,

In the IFS documentation you shared, there are different options, then what i see.
For upgrade there is only option in the documentation, but when i actually do it i see 2 upgrade options one with data and other with add data manually.
So need to confirm which option is more suitable.

Regards,
Hardik
