We are running Alliance 12.5

We recently restored a copy of our production database to our dev server, but were then no longer able to login to Astea Browser, getting the error:

“The maximum number of registered users was exceeded for product ‘Field Service’

Not just users, but none of the accounts for the API, Email Listener etc can connect. No one can connect to the database!

We then tried to apply the PROD licence file to DEV through the Configuration Editor, but when we do that and try to save the config, we get the error:

“Failed to save global xml, consult event log for details”

When we consult the event log, we see an error saying:

“System.Exception: Last install date has expired”

Anyone got any idea how we can resolve this??

Hi Mark,

We’ll try to get a temporary license for you.

Ugo will get in touch with you

Regards,

Joshua

Hi Joshua,

Worth a try, but I’m not so sure that it’s a problem with the license file itself.

I guess that’s a logical next step though.

cheers

mark

License issue is hard to crack. The error message you’ve got indicates a bad license.

I have already send message to the Head Office requesting a temp license.

See how it goes.

Ok, cool, thank you Joshua.

Yeah actually i notice that in our latest licence file it does say in the <LastInstallationDate> tag, 2020-07-18.

Does that mean that, that particular licence file can’t be installed after that date, in which case, maybe that is the issue?

Correct, every license has expiry date. You won’t be able to use that license to install Alliance component after it’s expiry date.

However your problem was slightly different. You just tried to applied a different license on DEV that was rejected. Need to clarify this with HO.
