We use Mobile edge on an Ipad for our actual astea v10 live environment. How can we connect to our Astea test v15 environment on the same Ipad so an engineer can continue using his device for daily operations and also test in the astea test v15 environment on the same device?

We don’t allow you to have the Astea Mobile Native Application installed/configured to point to multiple environments at the same time (so you have to go to Settings...Astea Mobile...and flip the Reset Application slider when you want to switch environments).

To make life easier on the data entry on the “Enter Server URL” screen you can create a quick barcode for EACH of these environment URLS...then you can press/hold in the field where you enter the URL and it will popup a Scan Barcode text string...click on that and then you can use the Camera on the mobile device to scan the URL in and you’re quickly off and running...just reset the app and then scan the other barcode when you want to switch environments back again).

Your other option could be to run one environment through the Native App and the other environment through Chrome or Safari (but we don’t recommend this approach because you get reduced functionality when running the application from a browser).

I do not think you are running Mobile Edge on your v10 environment.  Perhaps Mobile Universal but not Mobile Edge.  In any case, as Reid indicated already, you can only have a single Mobile native app on a client and it can only connect to a single environment at a time.

Further to Reid’s response, Mobile Edge can only be used from Alliance V14 onwards. All earlier versions of  the Alliance application, need to use Mobile Universal.
