What is defined as “Linked Documents” in IFS?

Aha.

"Linked Documents" can also just mean that we can connect any document in IFS to any object/screen.

Docman has a data model, and partial client support for storing large CAD models. But! It's far from convenient to get the files in and out. We had in IEE a more featureful client that allowed for multi-file file operations. It's not there in Aurena / IFS Cloud Web Client yet.

So, we can keep these structures, keep track of the documents/files (using Consists Of/Where Used) but it's not convenient to get the data in and out. You need to manually check in or out each individual file.

It would be possible to write some tool or integration however to make the process more convenient.

What is the use case here?

There is no actually a use case here but rather while going through the Book of rules, customer came across the term “Linked Documents” and was looking for explanation on the term.
