Any advice on following question:

Company currently stores documents in the database (App9 managed cloud). Due to the number and type of documents (many work order connected photo’s) the database has grown to 4 TB! Without the documents DB size is < 1 TB.  Because of an upgrade to IFS Cloud we need to shrink the database before migrating and question is: how can we off load the current documents?

(With IFS Cloud we will use Azure File Storage, or any other storage ouside the IFS database)

@Mathias Dahl: any advice from your side would of course also be very welcome 😀

Hi Peter,

Thanks for posting here!

What you want it called the IFS Cloud File Storage Migration Tool, or "fs mig tool" for short. You can find it's documentation here:

https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/030_administration/210_cloud_file_storage/fsmigtool/

Read it carefully, many of the questions you will have is answered there.

You should also search for earlier discussions on the same topic:

https://community.ifs.com/search?q=file+storage+migration+tool&category=IFS+Solutions+%3E+Document+Management+%28DocMan%29+%3E+Off+loading+documents+from+IFS+Application+Database

There are a number of customer projects that has used this tool now, so don't be afraid to ask around your own community to learn about other projects.

Good luck!
