How do I attach multiple documents in Document Revision?

I’m trying to place additional documents in IFS document revision. How can I do this?

Can you tell us more about the use case? I think you mean you want to upload more than one file to one document revision. It's not possible in the general case. There is a way to upload more files but then they all need to have different file extensions and the same "base name".

Hi Bryant,

As Mathias already mentioned, adding an additional file to an existing Doc Rev is usually not a good way.

What you can do if you have e.g. a manual in several languages is to add it as a new page to the same Doc No using this function “New Sheet”:

I hope this helps,
Mike

Thanks @MikeCH

It's also possible to have one document revision be a child document under another document revision, using the Consists Of and Where Used tabs. This is a manual process but it's a nice way to show that a document is included in, or makes up, another.

Hi @Mathias Dahl,

We have a requirement to attach two files into the same doc revision. Both files have the same name. One file is DOCX, and the other one is PDF.

When users click on view, the PDF needs to be opened.
When users click Edit or Original, DOCX needs to be opened.

Can you help me on how we can do this requirement using doc man?

That's the standard behavior. When you check in the original file, if there is a view file (PDF in most cases) with the same name in the same folder, it will be checked in as well. When you later view the document, you can decide which file to view, and if you edit it will be the original file (DOCX in your case) that opens. In IFS Cloud, you need the Aurena Agent for this to work and the "check in view file as well" functionality doesn't work in any of our assistants. It works from Document Revision, Document Details as well as Attachments / Documents.
