Hello,

We would like to clarify how global Column Profiles and Query Profiles are managed in your IFS Assyst environment.

Specifically, we would appreciate your input on the following points:

  • Do you use a standard “Global Default User” to maintain and assign global Column and Query Profiles?

  • If yes, is this user intended to be a technical/global user only, rather than a real end user?

  • Do you use a dedicated global login such as XXXXX--ZZGLOBAL for this purpose?

  • How were the login credentials for this global user created in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)?

    • Is it a real Entra ID account?

    • A service account?

    • Or is it excluded from SSO and managed locally?

  • How do you manage changes to global profiles (e.g. updates to columns or queries) so that they are consistently applied to all users?

We are particularly interested in understanding what you consider best practice for handling global profiles in an Entra ID–integrated IFS Assyst setup.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.
