TLDR; See question Title.

This is a common situation we’ve encountered when attempting to delete a record in IFS. We receive an error message stating that the object is used in another object. Typically the prompt in parenthesis (‘Receipt Inv Location’ in this example) is not the name of the page where the records are entered. We’ve identified that this typically corresponds to the PROMPT value on the entity but have not been able to find a link from the entity to the page. I’ve attempted to dig through the source code but cannot find the metadata that connects the entity to the page. Using the source code or metadata in the database if it exists would both be acceptable methods if they exist.

Hi

One way to identify where this part is used is to query inventory transaction history. This error is saying that this part cannot be deleted because it is being in use by some other process such as shop orders/purchase requestions/project /work order connected supply lines etc. Other possible screen to throw some light is inventory part availability planning.
