What are the steps in the system to handle toll manufacturing?
We need to send goods out to a third party who is processing and get it back in.
Thanks

Hi @GDISNO,
Following steps need to be followed for toll manufacturing in IFS.
Create an Outside Work Center.
Define the desired Routing operation with the Outside Work Center for toll manufacturing.
Create and Release a Shop Order.
Upon Shop Order release, the system would create Purchase Requisition(s) for outside operation(s). Convert the Purchase Requisition into the Purchase Order.
Perform all internal operations prior to the outside operations, if any.
Send WIP to the supplier for toll manufacturing processes.
Register arrival once the outside job process is done by the supplier.
Once the register arrival process is completed, the system will automatically close the Shop Order Outside operation.
Complete the remaining internal operations and receive FG.
Please refer to the flow chart below for more understanding.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Regards
Abdul Rehman
@GDISNO From your brief description of the process, if you are providing all the material to the external supplier and paying them the 'toll' for producing your product, this would be accomplished through one of two methods in Purchasing, based on the setting on your Site:
Supplier material: A simple way to reserve, pick, and ship the material, working only in IFS/Purchasing. It is not possible to charge these items. This function can be used, for example, when handling outside operations in IFS Manufacturing. It is only possible to use this method for Demand Codes Invent Order, Cust Ord Trans, Int Demand and DOP, in the purchase order line.
Customer order (charge/no charge): A more complex variant where the purchase order will create a customer order. The customer order flow will then be used to reserve, pick, and ship the material. Here you can decide whether the material should be charged. This method can be used combined with consignment stock. However, you must use the charge variant if the parts are in consignment stock.
