Hi everyone,

I use a shipment to support the creation of Shipment lines from a projetc deliverable.

According to the standard, the lines are created on the most recently created expedition.

Question 1 : do you have an idea of how we can be able to select the Shipment No we want to create the shipment lines on, from project Deliverable?

To avoid this problem, we use the work around of reassigning line on another shipment after their creation. However, we face another problem : we are able to reassign lines only one by one.

Question 2 : do you have an idea of how we can be able to Reassign shipment lines massively?

If you met theses problems and find work arounds, create a BPA codes or a developpments, I am very interested.

Many thanks

Hi,

Question 1:

There is no way of selecting a specific shipment ID when running the command in Project Deliverables. There are some ways that might help to come around this?

  • If you go to the Shipment page you can connect to a specific shipment via the Available Lines tab as long as it matches delivery information, sender, receiver and addresses.
  • There is a Block for Automatic Connection toggle on the shipment. This can be ticked manually or automatically via the Shipment Type. Then new lines will be added to a new shipment.
  •  You can perhaps use some of the consolidation parameters in the Shipment Type: Source Ref 1 i.e. will group by Item No in Project Deliverables, Planned Ship Date, Planned Delivery Date, Route, or Forwarder. If you add any of these the parameters, the lines will be grouped accordingly. Perhaps you have different dates and want to group by this? Perhaps you could use dummy routes only for the grouping purpose? Unfortunately it seems as if Ref ID, Dock Code, Sub Dock Code and To Location No can not be used in Project Deliverables, those could have been used for grouping, they are more free text fields (would have been nice to have).
  • Having different Shipment Type and Ship Via on the lines would create separate shipments as well.

Question 2:

As far as I know there is now way of reassigning multiple lines (would have been nice to have). One work around could perhaps be to pack all the lines in one Shipment Handling Unit and reassign the handling unit including all the lines? Not sure if this could be handled with a BPA doing the packing and reassigning in the background?

Best Regards

Fredrik
