Shipment Creation from CO Lines

Hello All,

Our organization currently utilizes Apps 9.

When creating new Shipment ID’s we use the “Order Lines Available for Shipment” > RMB > “Connect  to Shipment”. Our teams are inquiring if this RMB job can be relocated to the Customer Order screen at the Line Level.

Has anyone experimented with this before or understand if this workflow is feasible?

Hi @MitchW

This functionality is mainly used for Shipment Type NA, and it works when the shipment header details match the customer order information based on defined attributes. If matching attributes exist between the shipment and the customer order, the system allows the order lines to be connected to the shipment accordingly. However, the requirement to move or reuse this functionality in a different screen cannot be achieved through standard configuration. To achieve this kind of behavior in the Customer Order Line screen, a customization or custom event/action based on the relevant projection would be required. This would also need a proper feasibility analysis before implementation.

The main limitation is that the Customer Order Line screen does not always contain the same dataset context as the shipment-related view, which is required for the “Connect to Shipment” functionality to work correctly.

Hi @MitchW,

This will be a good option for business user experience, but I am agreeing with @Nikila Dis

Instead, you can add an additional navigation command from Customer Order Line(s) to Available Lines for Shipments screen.

Business users can simply navigate to the Available Lines for Shipments screen with desired of Customer Order line(s), and simply use the standard Connect to Shipment to create Shipment.
