Question

RMA for a serial part

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Hi, We discovered an issue with a RMA of an order line of a serialized part. (We work in IFS-cloud)

We sold a serialized part which now has been returned and we need to dismantle into components (some of them serialized too).

The RMA was received into arrival and now that we want to identify the Serials before moving it to stock, we get an error “The current position Xpart_noX, XserialX is issued.

I think in this case that the RMA is connected to a CO line that has a serial delivered to it, should recognize that the serial part is being returned and not asking for a new serial or saying that the serial is not possible to return.

Do you guys have an idea why would this be happening or/and a workaround to solve the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hi John,

if the RMA is connected to a Customer Order you can use the “Receive Parts against Order Deliveries” option - in this case only those serials/lots delivered with this order can be returned.

Are you already using the Register Arrivals page to receive RMA’s?

Best Regards, Sandra

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

Yes we have that option when registering the arrivals but in this case it was received by using the “Receive” button. That action sent the parts to arrival with a provisional serial “1”.

Now we have the part in arrival and we are stuck :(

When trying to split in to serials in the Receipt we get this error

When we try to move the parts into stock we get this error:

When we are trying to identify the serials in the inventory parts in stock, we get the following error:

Just now we are more interested in getting this parts into stock even if it is with other serial (new) just so they can be used :)
