Is there some setting to use to have the reservation done at picking? Our customer only uses picking in the process but to setup an internal trade between companies we need to somehow handle the reservations on customer order. If we do the setup on “customer order type” that reservations will be handled automatically, WHEN will the reservation be done? Say that the delivery date is month away.

Hi,
Not sure I fully understand? I get the feeling that you want to do the reservation as close as possible to the picking? I think you should then look at planned due date on the customer order line. This is when you need to start the picking activity to be able to meet the planned ship date.
For example you can use the Create Customer Order Reservations batch job, you can schedule this to run based on planned due date. For example schedule to run in the morning with everything having planned due date today.

If I do the setup lika the picture below in Customer Order Type, when will the reservation be done then? Immediately upon customer order release or on the wanted date?

It will be upon release as you trigger the customer order flow and it proceed as far as you have configured above. You can add some stop before reserve if you want to have the reservation later via batch job I suggested or through other process / way of working.
