Has anyone else run into this:

IFS Cloud 22R2; Stock is in a Remote Warehouse Picking Location.  When you try to Report Picking using Shipment Inventory on a Shipment for this item, you cannot select the Shipping Location Type to move the Inventory.  They are not shown in the LOV.

Hi @muellerjs14 ,

Works fine for me. Hope you have enough stock in the picking location.

Hi @Upasari

I ran into this issue as well, although it’s not a matter of available inventory.  The Shipment Location is simply not visible if it belongs to a Remote Warehouse.

Below are the recreation steps:

  • Reserve material in a location that belongs to a Remote Warehouse
  • Report Picking of this material and attempt to select a Location with a Location Type of Shipment that belongs to the Remote Warehouse
    • Within the LOV, only Shipment locations belonging to a non-Remote Warehouse are visible
    • Although it’s possible to complete the Shipment, the transaction is inaccurate as because it shows the material virtually in a different warehouse than it is physically.

For me this, this was in 22R2 SUPD 4.

If you are not running into this issue, can you please advise if the business scenario was the same and which UPD you have installed?

Thanks.

Hi, is there any update on this issue?  We face the same problem in IFS Cloud Web version: 24.1.2.20240704080601.0.  Pls advise.  Thank you.

Hi,

Currently this only works for Shipment Order functionality and not supported for Customer Orders. The reason being that a Customer Order may have a combination of reservations from the Site and multiple Remote Warehouses. The splitting per Site/Remote Warehouse is not available yet in the Customer Order side.

@Upasari Is this on the roadmap to be added into a future version of IFS?  Or does an idea need to be submitted for this?

This is solved from IFS Cloud 25R2. A new field is added on the Customer Order Line to specify the Remote Warehouse. The shipment you create for the line will then have the remote warehouse as the sender and all material actions happens within the remote warehouse e.g. reservations, picking into shipment inventory.

Thank you for the follow-up @Fredrik Johansson LKP.  This is a significant improvement.

For anyone else testing this, if you select the remote warehouse on the customer order line (Site Remote Warehouse field) then release the CO, the material can be auto reserved (based on unrelated core Order Type functionality) to this remote warehouse.

This can eliminate the need for tedious manual reservations within offsite warehouses that may have low order volumes and provide accurate material visibility when processing on the Shipment record.
