Question on Calculate Planning Data

Hi Team,

I’m testing “Calculate Planning Data “ function to auto populate planning data. Followings are my setup:

1.Rather connecting commodity group 2 inventory part and statistical period through it , I have updated “Pred Year Cons Qty” on the inventory part
2.Then I have set planning method C on inventory part
3.I have enabled the safety stock, Order Point and lot size checkboxes for auto update.
4.I have updated the inv interest, Ordering cost and service rate with values.

After running “Calculate Planning Data “ job ( background job is ready ), system still not update any of those values.

What could be I'm missing here?

 


I have created few demands ( customer orders ) for current period as well.

    Do you have any inventory transactions or only entering the value for previous year consumption? I’m guessing the consumption is an information field only and not tied to the calculation logic.

     

    We have been testing this functionality internally and have been struggling to understand how IFS is calculating the various data for safety stock, and the order point quantities. I saw something that included safety stock quantity within the order point quantity, but then it would double up. So still trying to figure out how this functionality works. It’s been challenging to find anyone that uses this auto update, but we have a client that is new to reorder points, has 30,000 parts and wants the system to auto calculate.

     

    If anyone has implemented the auto update functionality, it would be good to hear it does work.
