Clicking Share > Print on a purchase order created from a distribution order results in an error, “The operation is not possible for a purchase order created from a distribution order.”

Is there a workaround or setting that will allow users to print a purchase order created from a distribution order?

Hi @PMGannon & @audreyS  - I have tested this once more.

When I try:
Share > Print Order - I receive the same error message
Share > Print Order Work Copy - this allows me to print the PO - it is a crystal report, not standard.

Are you getting the error for both options? Which environments are you working in? 24R2?

Thanks

James

@PMGannon - have you tried printing the work copy from the same function?

Hi @WyrJamesG

Hello,

I am getting the same error message. I don't understand how to fix it.

The operation is not possible for a purchase order created from a distribution order.”

I am also looking for a solution to communicate between the customer and supplier when there are changes to prices or dates, because the MHS feed is not working. Only the shipping notification is working.

I haven't been able to find a way to set up automatic notifications once the price or dates are changed.

 Thank you for your help.

Hi @PMGannon  @WyrJamesG

Have you found a solution on your end? Because I have this problem, but I'm also concerned about the pricing.

Hello @WyrJamesG

We are able to print a work copy from our 24R2 instance of IFS.

Thanks,

Pat

@PMGannon

My client is on IFS 25R1 and is using distribution orders.
I opened a case with IFS and they told me this is expected behavior — we cannot print a confirmation directly from the purchase order because the distribution order is the master object.
However, I don’t understand this design choice, because I cannot generate an order confirmation either from the distribution order or from the purchase order.

Have you managed to do that in your 24R2 version?

@audreyS

Sorry, but we don’t have a use for order confirmations on distribution orders. It is not something we needed to explore.
