We switch from IFS10 to IFS Cloud and are still testing IFS Cloud (currect 24R2).

When we try to create a new Customer with Category Customer the system does not allow us to do so. When we try to create a new Customer with Category another category we can save the created customer.

Where in IFS Cloud is the setup, that we cannot create a new customer with Category “Customer”?

Hi,

Are you getting any error when saving a new customer with Category “Customer”?

Kind regards,

Samiru

Hi @mwmalpl,

There is no setup for Customer Category. Those all are pre-defined categories.

Can you please share errors’ screenshot that you have encountered?

We get the following error.

Hi @mwmalpl

I have see this error before and it was due to missing permission

In order to fix this, grant the CustomerHandling:CheckCreateCategoryCustomer projection action to a permission set connected to user who wants to create customers.

Steps to do this as follows:

  1. Go to Projection Grants
  2. Search for Projection=CustomerHandling, Permission set=Permission set connected to user
  3. Projection Action Grants
  4. Select CheckCreateCategoryCustomer
  5. Grant

Hope it helps!

Damith

Hi,

Ok, This results due to lack of permission and please request permission from your IFS Admin accordingly. Thank you

Kind regards,

Samiru

The error message the user gets now is:

Have you done what @dsj has suggested ?

That error message comes straight from  a Security Sys Check trying to making sure the Projection Action CustomerHandling.CheckCreateCategoryCustomer is granted to the user trying to insert a new customer.

Inserting
Modifying a Customer Category from Not Customer (e.g. Prospect) to Customer

If you’re getting that error message it means that projection action isn’t granted to the user trying to perform either an insert of a Customer with category “Customer”, or modifying a customer from Prospect to Customer category, for instance.
