Hi what could be specific reason why MRP does not create mrp supply for phantom parts.
There is no inventory for this phantom part (planning method p) + we have demand through customer order line.

Kind regards

HI @FleVidurK,

MRP does not create supply for Phantom parts, and it is standard behaviour and logical as well.

MRP explodes demand for component(s) linked in the Product Structure of Phantom Part, and consequently creates supply for components only.

I agree to @Abdul .

Otherwise it will create for all low cost parts (for example 0.05 USD) a purchase requisition as well.

Therefore they are excluded from MRP.

@FleVidurK building on the above comments:

MRP does not plan supply for direct demand for a 'P' part. It will plan supply, though, for the components of the 'P' part and the MRP Source for these will be MRP Make. The Order Ref field for these demands, though, will be blank in the Gross Requirements tab of MRP Part Info.

Example:

Customer Order for a 'P' part with Supply Code = Invent Order does not generate a shop order requisition for the 'P' part ( i.e., it is invisible to MRP).

Customer Order for a 'P' part with Supply Code = Shop Order does generate a pegged shop order for the 'P' part.

So if you want a supply for a ‘P’ part you will have to use a Supply Code of Shop Order on the Customer Order Line.

Hello guys,

Thank you for your answer.

Okay this is logical.
But in our customers case i have witness several phantom parts linked to customer order lines where there are entries in the MRP proposal with “no demand exist”.

I also saw examples with the behaviour you guys described→ no entries at all.

So there must be a difference in those between those two phantom parts right?

The only difference could be that supply code is shop order right?
Where can i change the supply code ?

Kind regards and thank you in advance

Hi @FleVidurK,

You can define the default Supply Code at the Sales Part level.

Refer to the screenshot below.

Likewise, Supply Code can change at Customer Order line as well.
