Hi. Is there any known way to “move” a Company Owned Rental Asset that is in stock on a Site within one Company to a Site on a different Company in IFS ?

Our customer has discounted a simple Move Inventory Part, a Transport Task, and a Shipment Order which all are not allowed for ownership of a rental asset. (“Transaction Code COMPM-OUT not allowed for Company Rental Assets” is the error on the transport task). 

We understand the theory around controlling as asset moving across companies, but is there any way this can be done out-with renting the asset to the other company using Internal Purchase Orders and Customer Orders ?

We have the Ship Goods and Asset assistant which can be used to initiate movement between sites and remote warehouses. However in the inter company scenario we are not supporting teh Company Rental Asset ownership as per now. 

Would it be possible to create a Remote Warehouse in the site where the Company Rental Asset is stored and add the receiving site address as the address of that remote warehouse. This way you can create a shipment with the correct address and then receiv in the remote warehouse. Problems might be that the receiver must be a user in the supply site, it cannot use the locations inside the demand site as it is handled a bit on the side. However you will kepp track that the company rental asset is still owned by the supply site.

I’ll put that suggestion to the business and you have confirmed what we expected re restricting the movement of assets inter-company which matches what we have found by trying the various methods of moving goods.

Some clarifications to my previous comment. When I write “This way you can create a shipment “ I mean that you can create a Shipment Order which can be connected to a shipment. The Shipment Order can either be entered manually and then reserve the correct item manually or you can use the ship goods and asset assistant from inventory part in stock or handling unit in stock if stored in handling unit.
