Good afternoon, we have an item set up in two facilities, one is a distribution center, and the other is a manufacturing plant, my issue is the in the manufacturing plant we cannot see the forecast or demand that is loaded a DC, set up is correct but don’t know why MSL1 for manufacturing is not generating any data nor requirements. Thx.

Good morning, good day, good evening wherever you are Jose

Please have a look at the MS Level 1 Part screen, you have a field called Used Dependent Demand in Forecast Consumption. And then are you in a business environment like:

Part is supplied internally to downstream DCs and as well shipped to external customers from the manufacturing site. You have a local forecast

  • on the DCs
  • on the manufacturing site for the external customer orders

Do you have above scenario?

  1. Then you need to run MS Level 1 calculation for site B and C first.

If you have setup system correctly, you should then get Distribution Orders.

  1. Then you run MS Level 1 calculation for site A, then distribution orders should be loaded into site as Dependent Demand.

And then dependent on the setting of Used Dependent Demand in Forecast Consumption field, these Distribution Orders will consume/not consume of Site A forecasts.

  1. Anyway the Distribution Orders should be loaded into Site A and this demand will affect the Projected Onhand calculation and hence the Master Production Schedule on Site A.

Potentially you have below scenario, then it is more of a matter to make sure the DOs gets created when you run MRP on Site B and Site C

Hope this helps.
