How can we issue materials on active work orders or do we need to create new work order to issue material to an existing site ?

You can create a maintenance material requisition connected with work order and then the material can be issued against that work order

It is possible to issue material for an Active Work Order. Use the material tab in Prepare Work Order window and create the material requisition. You can enter Due date, Part no, required qty etc. Then release it and you will be able to reserve and issue material if you already have material in stock. Otherwise you can create the requisition and proceed to purchase the required material.
