Part Serial can be connected to a Rental Fixed Asset

You can make a Part Serial ‘Maintenance Aware’ and by doing so create a Serial Object

This Serial Object can be connected to a Fixed Asset

Now our general approach is to make Maintenance Aware in the same company that owns the Fixed Asset.

How can I correct it if a user has manually made a Part Serial Maintenance Aware in a wrong company?

E.g.

Fixed Asset owned in France

Part Serial linked to this Fixed Asset

 Part Serial Make Maintenance Aware > you can choose in which company

For this particaul car it is wrongly 1001 while it should have been 1011 Denys France SAS, then the Serial Object should be connected to the Fixed Asset A791100003 in 1011

Hi @DNVMDEL - I had a similar scenario previously. I was able to delete the serial object, which reopens the ability to make maintenance aware once more. Have you tested that?

Didn’t expect it to be as simple as that.

Yes it worked. 😅

I do expect running into issues for a Serial Object on which we have already transactions/WO’s, …

Let me further test!

Confirmed: This does not work if you already have activity/wo’s on the Serial Object.

@WyrJamesG Any suggestion on that?

For anybody else with the same problem: we are able to change the site on the serial object & relevant WO’s via the database (workflow and SQL code)

@DNVMDEL - I have a similiar issue now. Serial Object on the wrong Site/Company, with WO’s on the correct site, but object site being incorrect. For info, was yours just the wrong site, or was it wrong site & company? There are only a couple of WO’s (both cancelled)

@WyrJamesG we work with a 1 site per company setup, so site and company were wrong
