A producing company assemble large units that are serial tracked

The unit is dis-assembled after finalized quality control and testing and stored in different locations and on different pallets.

Challanges to be solved

  1. Keep track of the completet unit as it is one serial no, when splitted in reality, to multiple locations
  2. The serial No cannot be splitted in inventory and placed system vice in different location, further more, no inventory movement kan be done per pallet.
  3. In shipment you cannot handle the pallets as you must have a qty in each pallet, in this case you have several pallets in reality but as it is one serial no, the qty can only be in one of the pallets. Following information about content, weight etc needed for transport booking. Yes, you can have a shipment and not add handling units but the company has a mix of products, large units packed on different pallets and in same shipment to the customer normal handling units with small parts.

In short, a solution support the flow from production - to - delivery for a serialized unit packed on multiple pallets including warehouse management, shippment - any good ideas or developed solutions that you can share with my customer, with or without CRIM’s

Hej,

I think we need more information, since in system standard, Cannot split one serial no/one pallet into multiple locations

How are the serial number are structured? What are the part definitions?

Are the components sold separately?
Are they package parts?
How is the disassembly done? Does each part have sub-serial number when disassembled?
What type of industry and what type of products?
BR

The part “Unit” is a std or configured part, manufactured and sold according to standard processes in IFS

The unit is assebled and tested as a complete manufacured unit and Certificate as a unit.

However the size of the unit is 1-5m and will be dissassembled after testing and packed on pallets.

  • One Unit sold as one product on one COL
  • No package parts
  • No sub-assemble part no for dissassembly, it’s dissassembled according to size of pieces that can be assembled
  • See picture
